Post training meals a hit

That feeling when you have a warm curry after a big training in the winters cold...

The P1 and P2 mens teams have started a new tradition over the last few weeks, post training meals. With the generous help of Northern United member Jason in the kitchen, the men have had the good fortune of tucking into a hot meal after a heavy training out in the winters cold. Meals have included Mac n' Cheese, Nachos and even a good hearty curry. The response has been incredible with 85% of the players and coaches attending.

Something even nicer is found when you take a look at how it is operating.  You'll see all the school boys eating care of the senior members through a pay it forward system. The system works like the "suspended coffee" you'll see around town. What's that? Well, a senior member or anyone that feels they can afford it will pay for an extra meal, the school boys or someone without cash on the night can head on up and ask to redeem one of the suspended meals. You beauty, everyone gets fed. What a piece of culture that is.

The old boys are sure it will come back around later in life, maybe not for them directly but the boys bing looked after now will be looking after the next lot of young fellas coming through the club.

Bravo!
